Dance Captain Audition-6,7&8

We will take:

2 grade 6 dancers

2 grade 7 dancers

2 grade 8 dancers

1-2 guy dancers (6,7, or 8)

Leadership Role

You will be on duty one day a week

Requirements:

You will prepare a 30 sec dance solo

Be prepared to answer these questions:

Why do you want to be a dance captain?

What skills do I have that would be of use as a dance captain?

*You will have a separate dance piece for the show that will rehearse with Mrs. R on four occasions from 4:15-6:00 PM

Small Group Dance Audition

6,7&8

We will be creating two small group pieces for the show.

1-Princess (Contemporary)

2-Villian (Jazz/Hip Hop)

*Rehearsals will be decided upon audition results (you will work with Mrs. R AND a HS choreographer 2-4 times from 4:15-6:00)

If you want to create a Small Group or Solo Dance for the PRINCESS piece, here are the audition requirements:

Music:  Your choice, but it must fit the genre of your dance (It will be changed for the show.)

Length: 1min to 1 min 30 sec (solo entries -1 minute)

Number of Dancers: 1-5

If you want to create a Small Group or Solo dance for the VILLAIN piece, here are the audition requirements:

Music:  Your choice, but it must fit the genre of your dance (It will be changed for the show.)

Length: 1min to 1 min 30 sec (solo entries -1 minute)

Number of Dancers: 1-5

Grade 8 Choreographer Audition

You must have one minute of choreography finished

Show Week Reminders

It's show week! I hope you all had a relaxing break.

Today - costume run. Please leave all bags in your dressing room. No bags in the costume room or in the auditorium please. Please be on stage dressed and ready by 4:15pm.

Tuesday - makeup (please check your time). Again no bags in the make up room. No costumes. If you are ready with your makeup on, please be on stage at 4:15pm.

Wednesday - full dress (no makeup). Please be on stage by 3:30pm dressed. Please help younger cast members wherever you can. Full cast photo at 3:45pm, then we will start the run. No bags in auditorium, however, you can watch from the auditorium with the little kids.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday - Show time. Please be at your make up call time. Please pick up after yourself and help out where you can. Please make sure you are polite and thank everyone that has helped us put together our show.

(MS Fairies please come at 3:30 if possible)

TIGHTS:

Tight have arrived.  Please bring 27.00 to rehearsal on Monday or Tuesday.  If you did not fill out the order form, I ordered tights for you.

TICKETS:

If you preordered tickets, they are in the MS office with your name on them.  If you need more, you may get them from SAS Booster Booth, MS Office, and The ES Offices.

Hi Dancers,

Please be sure to look under Important Information.  We have lots going on these next three weeks.

I will see all of you tomorrow in the auditorium with the HS dancers.  We are running the whole first act. I can't wait to see it all come together!
